Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

September 30, 2008 · No Comments

If you want to read a hilariously crazy book, try Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume!

This book has a crazy little brother named Fudge, a serious older brother named Peter, a good friend of Peter’s named Jimmy, a bossy neighbor named Sheila, a cute little turtle named Dribble, a very emotional Mom, and a Dad who is a creative yet terrible cook.

In this story, Mr. Hatcher, Peter and Fudge’s dad, writes commercials for a job and a big client is the Toddle Bike Company. Since mom is gone on a trip, dad has to bring Peter and Fudge to work with him. The president of the Toddle Bike Company is looking for a little boy to ride the Bike in a commercial. When he sees Fudge, he exclaims that Fudge is just the boy for the job! Peter thinks that it’s not fair and that Fudge will become rich and famous – or will he?

We enjoyed this book because it helps to explain what it feels like to have a little brother – or sister – who takes all the attention away from you and messes up your stuff. The book doesn’t have pictures so you can make pictures or a movie in your head. The book is funny and will make you laugh.

We recommend this book to all ages because there is a part of the book for everyone. Some parts of the book are serious, some are sad, some are funny, and everyone enjoys a hilarious story.

You’ll want to visit your school library, local library, or bookstore and pick up Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing – it’s just plain funny! Hurry up – the book is waiting for you!
