Junie B. Jones Smells Something Fishy
By Vlada
Have you ever had a really crazy pet? Well, Junie B. has a really crazy pet. She wants to bring a dead fish for Pet Day! Ewww! The title of this book is Junie B. Jones Smells Something Fishy, and the author is Barbara Park. Also, the illustrator is Denise Brunkus.
The main characters are Junie B. Jones, Grandma Miller, Grandpa Miller, and Junie B.’s mother. It is a story about a kindergartener that wants to bring a pet to school for Pet Day. She wants to bring her dog, but her teacher declines it. So she decides to catch the old and rascally raccoon in her mother’s garden. But her parents also say no to her. Who knows what she will decide to bring next? Only you will find out when you read the book!
One reason you should read this book is because Junie B. is a hilarious kindergartener. Like one time when she runs around the classroom yelling about Pet Day. Another reason is she makes you happy, joyful, and laugh. An example of this is when Junie B. told her grandma that she hated her bird Tweeter, because he pecked her when she put a potato on his head! I laughed like crazy! The last reason is that you want to be her in some parts of the book. Like when she took her grandma’s fish, named it Sparkle, and put a dog leash on it! I totally had a feeling I was the crazy Junie B. Jones!
I recommend this book to kids in elementary schools because it is more of an older child book to understand some of the funny parts. Trying to bring a dead fish for Pet Day is crazy! But bringing a fish stick is way out of whack!
